I thoroughly enjoyed traveling around Europe, and it made me excited at the prospect of one day returning with Heike on our own versions of the "Wert-Williams" Tours. Obviously, we should be sure to marry guys whose last names start with the same letter, so we can carry on the alliteration. So far on the horizon is a potential boathouse rental around the mediteranian. I for one would love to go to Greece! (and so many other places). Traveling seems to be one of those unquenchable thirsts- the more you do it, the more you want to do it more.
I have posted a plethera of photos on facebook, and actually did sort through my photos and refrain from putting ones up from most of the random things I couldn't remember why I had even taken a picture of it. For this, you should be thankful and proud. Though, I still doubt many will actually look at them- it's the curse of the vacation pictures- no one else really cares as much as you do about the gorgeous view you saw. I was going to post some with this, but I haven't really figured out how to post pictures in blog posts and get it to go where I want it and look the way I want it to my satisfaction. So, you've been spared, heh.
People always ask how was the trip, and never seem satisfied with a simple "great!" but also don't really have the attention span for all the meticulous details I could go into. So, here are some bullet points:
- beautiful
- creepy guys check you out a lot and lots of PDA
- really really good food
- class was intense and filled up the majority of my time
- Lovely to just walk around
- Communism jokes!
- Strings concert that was beautiful
- Beer, meat, and cabbage is seemingly the only food
- Did the wall really only fall 20 years ago?
- So much history, so much change
- Had some of the coolest symbolism and simplist but moving memorials
- Spent 5 hours in the Jewish Museum
- beautiful, quaint houses, lots of bikers
- in some ways the city was really sad, in others really inspiring (re: red light district, anne frank house, museum of dutch resistance)
- really enjoyed fellowship at the christian hostel
- loved spending an afternoon in the country with windmills!
- very relaxing, nice to be in a real home again
- why is everything in germany so much cooler?
- bikes! and minigolf!
- wine and beer! and bratwurst!

So, there you have it.
As far as the rest of my summer goes- I'm taking it week by week and hoping God will provide things to get me out of the house, because I hate being at home alone doing nothing all summer long. This week I'm doing VBS at church, next week I'm helping out with a summer camp for refugee children and families in the atlanta area. Hopefully I will babysit soon, because I have found myself in need of money, but the Lord will provide it all.
Currently, I am working on a couple of piano pieces- one from the pride and prejudice soundtrack and another from the amelie soundtrack. I'm also trying to find a book I feel like reading. And hoping to hang out with other people in the near future. Summer vacation is like starvation for an extrovert.
