Positive Changes

I've really been meaning to update this blog for a couple of weeks. I'll think about it, and even start drafting a post in my mind, and then I'll forget. Plus, I seem to draft more tweets than blog posts in my head these days, and then I feel like Jon Acuff and consider Jesus Juking myself. And I had to restrain from typing @jonacuff and #jesusjuke. Oh dear, I may be developing a problem.

But that's not what I'm hear to talk about today. Today, I want to tell you about the happy changes in my life! The main change being that I have moved to a new house with some new roommates, and it is just lovely. I enjoyed where I was for the past year, I loved being able to walk to work, and the girls I lived with were all lovely, and it was a great starting point for my time in Nashville, but this... this feels like home. I feel so comfortable here, and I can sense some wonderful friendships coming on. I can also sense the not so fun part of friendships, like... you know, rubbing our sin together, and realizing that most of it is actually probably your own, but even so I'm excited.

The first several weeks have been extra nice, because one of my roommates hasn't started her new job yet, so when I got home, she was still home, usually lying in bed starting to wake up, with her cat curled up on one end, and I would lounge in the bed with her, pet the kitty, and talk about our days/nights before I headed to bed. I'll miss those few minutes, because once she gets back from Africa (awesome!) and I get back from vacation, she'll have started work and already be gone in the mornings.

My other roommate just finished (finally) watching Buffy- she had stopped after the 5th season, which I think i just CRAZY! especially considering how good the 6th season is. So I've had fun rewatching some episodes with her. And also rewatching Buffy on my own- Just started the 4th season (and I'm finally watching Angel, too- alternating episodes right now)

It's been a busy month. I had family in town for a few days, I packed and moved, unpacked and made things homey again, road tripped to a lovely friend's wedding, started trying to plan things for upcoming weddings I'm in (a best friend and a brother getting married in the same year. what?)

I've also started a vlogging collab with 4 other nerdfighters (What is a nerdfighter? Find out here) called LegallyInYourPants (because we met in the nerdfighter forum, yourpants.org, and we're all over 21. go with it) You can check out our videos here. I'm Friday!

It might be weird, but I really have been enjoying making youtube videos... So... check them out if you want to. :)

Next month though... I'm really excited for next month, and what my blog post update will bring. 2 full weeks of vacation, and most importantly LeakyCon and the Deathly Hallows 2 movie release. I am so not ready and yet can't wait. I'm seriously jonesing for a time turner to be able to attend all the events I want to. I mean, how am I supposed to choose between a seminar on dancing against the dark arts and merging harry potter and christianity? and I have to miss out on planning a hogwarts themed VBS because I'm getting to see StarKid live and also Evanna Lynch, ie. The Luna Lovegood? I mean, seriously people. Too much good stuff. And I have no idea when I'm going to eat. No seriously, I'm a little concerned about it.

I'm liking this posting once a month thing. I feel like this is an achievable goal. Go me.

To end things out- an easy playlist of some of my favorite vlogs so far (about 13 of them- I have a lot more, though... again: personal channel and collab channel

Hmm, I'm wondering... what is this LeakyCon thing you speak of?? It sounds pretty interesting! :-P

So good to hear that your new place is great.

And that twitter problem you're developing... I don't have that ('cause I'm never on twitter), instead I have a facebook problem.
I constantly find myself wanting to press the "like" button! Even when I'm reading something printed on paper... An it actually bugs me when there is no button :(
A bit pathetic.
